It's a real mind game. There are so many crevices, bends and directions in the play, ... There are two themes: The knife-edge relationship between revenge and redemption and the duality of natures that you can have within one person.

I understand Equity's position, ... but my heart goes out to the actors who were going to get to go to Ireland with the show. It's a group of fine actors who would have had a chance to be exposed to the international stage. I would have paid great money to see [Rea] do it, and I would have paid great money to see these actors do it with him.

I think most shows happen like this for actors, ... They're like a river. You hop on it and you take it where it goes.

The spectacle is secondary, ... What I really like about it is there's a friction between good and evil.

I felt impeded, ... We were working around the physicality of it without actually being able to create. We were structured as opposed to creating our own structure internally.
