We're interviewing close to 20 witnesses — some from the house, some from surrounding areas.

We are investigating it as an arson.

Is this familiar or similar to choking game incidents? Yes. But we just don't know. We will look at everything to try to figure it out.

It is very apparent that speed was a contributing factor in this collision.

There was a national evaluation that showed it just wasn't producing the results we wanted. Also, it didn't leave flexibility. During a time of budget tightness we discontinued it.

She was able to leave the apartment, get down to the second floor, where she summoned help. We set up basically a rescue team to hold containment, because he was still up in the apartment. So we moved in and rescued her and a couple of other neighbors who were there.

We're not sure how many times she was shot.

He is being honored for the courage, confidence and skill of his actions in assessing and ending an extremely volatile situation in order to save the life of a 10-month-old child.

Whether it is an accidental death or intentional death is the question, and I don't know if we'll ever find out.
