Felton played college basketball at the North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball/University of North Carolina under head coach Roy Williams (coach)/Roy Williams. At North Carolina, Felton led the Tar Heels to a NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship/national championship before declaring for the NBA Draft.
