There are meridians on the arms that are connected to organs and the entire body. So as you press on the physical body and release tension, it allows the energy in the body to flow.

We use our hands and our feet and our forearms and our elbows and knees and actually the weight of the whole body. There are parts of it that are a cooperative ... effort where it actually is two people, the practitioner and the receiver, in a pose together.

It can actually affect everything. When you learn how to open your body and release, you begin to learn how to release in your life and let go of things that you don't need anymore.
