If California was to move forward, that would be the impetus to change the U.S. Constitution. It will have that type of impact. So it could be a lose-lose situation for those promoting same-sex marriage.

We have a city that is spinning out of control with crime and other problems, and this council wants to pass laws banning hypothetical situations. There are no cases of this type of discrimination, so why pass a law based on sexual orientation?

What we're expecting is that for all these people that said 'the sky is falling' to reverse their position. This is not going to affect the elderly. It's not going to affect private contracts. What it's going to do is stop marriage by a different name.

I talked with John just last week about this and asked him some questions about our values -- and he is solid. In fact on Family Research Council's scorecard he has scored a hundred for the past several years, being right on the issues.
