I trained really well all day, felt fine when I trained in the evening and went to sleep. In the morning I woke up with a lot of pain. I tried to train but I couldn't walk afterwards. I flew to Italy to get some treatment and therapy but it didn't work.

This is the most frustrated I have been in my career.

It was my dream to race against him again. But to start the race and be forced to stop wouldn't make sense. We are human and this is the human body. I have to accept it.

It was my dream to race against Haile again. But to have started the race and then be forced to stop would not have made sense.

I was focusing on London. I was in my best form.

I call this the race of the century because it is not easily that you can find the quality of the athletes like in this race. I doubt that it will be possible to match it again.

I have been at the New York City marathon several times to watch but this time I'm delighted and excited to be competing myself. The field is very strong.

I would bet on Haile. He is a smart guy, he has learned a lot about tactics.

I'm so disappointed. I have worked so hard for it and not to be in the action is cruel.
