Through that process I came to the realization it was time, ... This is the end of a storybook career that has taken me above and beyond my wildest dreams.

I wanted to prove that I could, and by the grace of God I did.

I'm really looking forward to the day and the opportunity to meet and greet a number of people through an autograph session, along with the opportunity to express my appreciation to the fans who have supported me over the years. I'm just really excited about everything that is planned for that day.

I'd like to slide up behind Jesus on that big white horse he's coming back on.

The thrill of the victory in that race was decidedly less than what I'd anticipated, ... I think it was God's timing, it was God's way of getting my attention.

In the aftermath of that there was some intense rehabilitation, ... No real moments or thoughts that I wouldn't be able to return, but certainly, as with race horses when they're operated on, there is a question whether they can come back and be as good as they once were.

This is the pinnacle of your career -- to be recognized within the industry and be voted into the Hall of Fame. It's the best of the best.

[There will be additional training classes for those willing to help if they could not commit to the time on such short notice.] This is going to be a very long relief operation, ... The Red Cross kind of digs in and stays until the job is finished.

I'm just really excited that Churchill Downs would choose to honor me.
