Ozzy Osbourne
FameRank: 8

"John Michael" ""Ozzy"" "Osbourne" is an English heavy metal vocalist, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the pioneering band Black Sabbath, whose dark and heavy sound has often been cited as key to the development of the Heavy metal music/heavy metal genre. Osbourne left Black Sabbath in 1979 and has since had a successful solo career, releasing 11 studio albums, the first seven of which were all awarded multi-platinum certifications in the U.S., although he has reunited with Black Sabbath on several occasions, most recently in 2011, to record the album 13 (Black Sabbath album)/13, which was released in 2013. Osbourne's longevity and success have earned him the informal title of "Honorific nicknames in popular music/Godfather of Heavy Metal".

I bit the head off a live bat the other night. It was like eating a Crunchie wrapped in chamois leather.

All that stuff about heavy metal and hard rock, I don't subscribe to any of that. It's all just music. I mean, the heavy metal from the Seventies sounds nothing like the stuff from the Eighties, and that sounds nothing like the stuff from the Nineties. Who's to say what is and isn't a certain type of music?

I'm about caring, I'm about people, and I'm about entertaining people. I'm a family man. A husband. A father. I've been a lot of other things over the years, which we don't really want to talk about. I'm always working on trying to better myself, you know? I think that that is an ongoing thing with me.

I love you all, but you're all f*****g mad!

I can honestly say, all the bad things that ever happened to me were directly, directly attributed to drugs and alcohol. I mean, I would never urinate at the Alamo at nine o'clock in the morning dressed in a woman's evening dress sober.

I have no regrets except that I wasn't up to keep Randy (Rhoads) from getting on that plane.

I am a raging alcoholic and a raging addict and I didn't want to see my kids do the same thing.

Somebody said to me this morning, 'To what do you attribute your longevity?' I don't know. I mean, I couldn't have planned my life out better. By all accounts I should be dead! The abuse I put my body through: the drugs, the alcohol, the lifestyle I've lived the last 30 years!
