"Oliver Francis Luck" is an executive with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in charge of the organization's regulatory functions. Prior to that, he was athletic director/Director of Intercollegiate Athletes at West Virginia University (WVU), his alma mater. Luck is a retired American football player who spent five seasons in the National Football League/National Football League (NFL) as a quarterback for the History of the Tennessee Titans/Houston Oilers (1982–1986). He was also the first President#Non-governmental presidents/president and General manager (sports)/general manager of the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer/Major League Soccer (MLS). Under his watch, the Dynamo won the MLS Cup in MLS Cup 2006/2006 and MLS Cup 2007/2007.

He is the father of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.

Plenty of folks don't like the name because it's not to American tastes. It's not a name like the Bears or the Bulls and it's absolutely fine not to like it.
