We're just stronger in singles. We couldn't hold Elliott back anymore.

Obviously, Gabe Willey has to come through and win matches at No. 1 and Steve Ward has to come up and win matches at the No. 2 spot. Obviously, the matches are going to be harder. But if those two players can step up moving to No. 2 to No. 1 from No. 3 to No. 2, respectively, then I think we'll be OK. I think they're ready for that challenge.

Elliott has parlayed his doubles skills into a solid singles player. He has a great net game and I thought he mental toughness really showed through. He could have folded, but he came back and won it.

We control our own destiny in the conference. We have two big ones left, but we feel we definitely have a shot.

We have the nucleus of a good team. We lost two seniors, but we've got five of our starters back. We feel we have something to build around. We think we have the nucleus of a strong team, we just have to round into shape.

We're very fortunate to come out with a win against an outstanding team.

It's still a revolving door there. We know Mike Phillips will anchor that team, but he's had different partners. We'll just go with whoever is hot.
