Kids are not going to absorb information they are not ready to receive. ...What's been shown in the research is that information is never harmful; it's always helpful. We need to make sure that kids know about things not as they're going through them but beforehand.

One thing that happens because adults are uncomfortable is we use a lot of euphemisms. Those can just serve to confuse kids.
