It was a relief more than anything, because we won't have to talk about it anymore. The kids were all thrilled and excited just to get the win. The shutout was icing on the cake.
"Nate Turner" is a former American football running back who played for the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers in the National Football League. When we came over the (U.S. Route 136) bridge, there were about 40 cars and a police escort waiting for us. We took a victory lap around town. It was like a carnival. The kids needed the win, and the town needed the win.
I was just happy that we kept on going, that we didn't give up.
