We had frank discussions and agreed to move forward. Some people call it the bar being set, but I like to call it the floor -- something to build up from.

He wanted to talk. I had a plan B in place for a referendum effort. .... I appreciate Doug stepping up. I think he did a good job. I think we have a guy we can work with.

The crowd coming in was all happy. I had no complaints, and people came up and thanked me. That always makes you feel good. That's what keeps me doing this.

It was a great day — turnout, attitude, volunteers, everything. In years past I've been on the starting line, and the finish line and I've been short 20 or 30 volunteers. I didn't know where to put people this year I had so many volunteers. That's awesome and that makes it great.

When you say goodbye to so many great volunteers, it's always hard, but it's good to know there's always a new generation of leaders emerging.
