I've had a bull's-eye on me for quite some time, ... That's because I've done my job. I've raised issues no one else has had the guts to raise.

It's not that I'm dragging my feet on this. I'm in transition of buying a house, selling a house, getting established in a new city, opening bank accounts.

We used to get a lot of different products from manufacturers because the cans were mislabeled or the cans had dents in them. Now those manufacturers have found secondary markets for their goods.

They're not that good. They're overrated. They got too much hype. They didn't have that tight defense tonight. We proved that. If they had good defense, we never would have come back.

No evidence that I'm aware of that these gentlemen are involved in any kind of terrorist activities.

Something about this stinks, and I'm not talking about our water.

We're struggling to provide adequate food to our agencies because we've had cuts in USDA commodities. We aren't getting the canned beans, vegetables and fruit that we used to. We're hearing that the amount of canned food is down because of crop failures, but the federal government hasn't put any new money into the program for ten years.

I'm not at liberty to talk about it, ... At the end of the day there will be no merit behind that, too. The fact is I'm not in a position to talk about those things, but someone will assert that's why I'm leaving town. There's no truth to that.

At the end of the day, I think it's not quite what you read in the paper or what Mr. Ashcroft said in Washington today.
