I -- like every other New York City detective -- was hoping that the allegations were not true. In light of the conviction, I am happy that the government did catch up with them... But this definitely is one of the most tarnished days in the history of the famous New York City detectives' gold shield.

It is felt with a reasonable degree of medical certainty that the death in this case is directly related to the incident of 9/11.

The jury decided he is nothing more than a murderer who intentionally took the lives of two of our detectives.

Crime does make for some strange bedfellows. But in the end, it is our own detectives who wind up making the case.

I think the jury decided the man was nothing more than a murderer ... and deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.

It's not for James. It's for his family, his daughter and these other officers' families.

I do not think he will be the last, unfortunately.
