The challenge is whether [politicians] are willing to accept that there is no message control on the Internet. ... You have to manage conversations, rather than control messages.

This is an opportunity for citizens to have an impact on campaign practices next year and beyond. We want to learn what people want to look at and what they regard as true or misleading in what they see.

There is no money to be made billing for sending messages to the government.

Look at the tobacco-free kids, Microsoft and its opponents, and what most of the trade associations and lobbying groups are doing. They're making heavy use of the Internet to mobilize their members and supporters to contact members of Congress at exactly the right time.

Discussion is an important part of the democratic process.
