The citizens, for example, were not used to getting their permits this quickly, so they didn't bring their checkbooks with them to pay for the permits. We had to quickly create a stage to freeze the process until it was paid, but because it was an in-house process, we were able to put that in in a matter of minutes.

The Sheriff's Office has been concerned about some mobile home parks in the county, so the County Attorney's Office, the Sheriff and Development Services have looked at ways to reduce future crime.

This award belongs to our employees. They're what all this is about.

We have nothing for our back yard. We're considering stepping stones. We don't need to redo our windows or anything. Mostly looking for the outside stuff.

I'm sure this is just the starting point. We want to work from the ground up and get people thinking about crime prevention.

We've turned down many people that need apartments right now. If they can wait for a few months, we're willing for them to put in an application and work with us.

I am so proud of Janie. It has been an honor to be a part of her life and golf career for the past four years. Our program will miss her next spring.
