When I was 4, I grabbed a piece of paper, and I drew a picture of my dingle boots. They were like biker boots with three straps, and I was so fascinated by them.

I wanted to work for myself. I wanted to do something where I could express myself.

She really got me to understand perspectives on portraits -- the way your eyes line up with your ears and your pupils line up with the corners of your lips. Your finger is the same length as your nose. Your forearm is the same length as your feet.

You name it, I'll paint it.

I had to read Revelations 21 and 22 like 20 times to understand it enough to paint it. And I had to ask different preachers to give me definitions of certain words in the Bible.
