"Mark Justin Dantonio" is an American football coach and former player. He is the current head football coach at Michigan State University, a position he has held since the 2007 season, presiding over one of the most successful eras in the program's history. He led the Michigan State Spartans football/Michigan State Spartans to four seasons of 11 or more wins, two Big Ten Conference championships, and six victories over rival Michigan Wolverines football/Michigan in seven years. In 2013, he coached Michigan State to its first 13-win season and the program's fifth trip to the Rose Bowl Game/Rose Bowl, where they defeated Stanford and finished the season ranked #3 in the nation. This was only the second time a Big Ten team had reached the 13-win mark, the other being 2002 Ohio State Buckeyes football team/Ohio State's national championship season in 2002, where Dantonio was the defensive coordinator. The 2013 season also marked the first time a Big Ten team won nine conference games by double digits in each contest.

They'll have that roar. It gets loud. There will be times when you can't hear. We need to be able to play under those conditions. They're going to have to experience it. We'll put music on (during practice) and play it loud so they can't hear each other, but it's still different.

They remind me of our Ohio State defense in 2002. Teams are not going to score on them. They don't give up big plays. They pressure the ball and force turnovers.

Well, it's no different than playing at Ohio State last year. Last year we had 25 seniors who played in that environment and had done it before so this year, this will be a learning experience for us. My advice to the players will be to enjoy the moment. Don't get uptight. These are the things you've dreamed about as a young person growing up. Enjoy the experience, live it and play hard.

We didn't affect the quarterback. We brought pressure but we didn't get to him. That left people on an island.

This will be their first game in this type of environment. I'm sure they'll be a little wide-eyed, but hopefully we've learned our lesson in terms of young players and how they prepare.

Tight end is a strength of this team and should be throughout this year, next year and the year after.

I'm not going to walk out of here with my head down. I'm not looking for moral victories. I'm just looking for guys who will play with toughness and will compete and I think we did that. Maybe (Penn State) thought we were going to go in the bag, but I was going to keep playing.

We came in at halftime and we thought we were going to win the game.
