Very pretty, very romantic 19th century.

Well the floor is painted and ... it's a wonderful combination of things from Zion house in London and other things we found in books. It is based on a design probably done in marble, originally.

We put in a library, a dining room a drawing room and a bedroom, and a nice center hall which sort of leads off to all these spaces.

This is Florida so it's a bright house with a lot of sunshine. The idea was to have soft, pretty pastels, very fresh and clear.

I like all the chairs to talk to one another and to the sofas and not those parlor-car arrangements that create two Siberias.

It's tough on the owner and very tough on the contractor.
