Ironically, the technology business, which has this image of being this young and progressive industry, is just as bad as all the other old-line industries when it comes to promoting women into the top jobs.
St. Patrick escaped from slavery, studied in a monastery, and was appointed a bishop to Ireland. He traveled throughout the country, establishing monasteries, schools and churches, and he is known for converting the Irish people to Christianity.
But it has since become a secular celebration with people from all ethnic backgrounds and faiths enjoying parades, corned beef sandwiches and the wearing of the green.
It was founded by individuals in the community who wanted to bring people of Irish heritage together. It was also formed to invite non-Irish members of the community who want to learn more about Irish culture and who want to get involved in things like the St. Patrick's Day parade. Membership is open to anyone, Irish or not.
