That was his big thing. He did that several times. He was extremely generous. He was always buying things, just doing whatever he could. He used his own money. He liked helping the kids because he didn't have any kids of his own. He was very good to the girls.

He was a valuable asset. He always helped me with the catchers, that's where his expertise was. He was also our trainer. He was really good at assessing injuries, taping ankles, he knew a lot of first aid. He was such a big help. And he was extremely dependable. I could always depend on him.

This is the first time we've experienced something like this. We'll have to somehow keep focused. It will be hard. I'm sure we'll talk about Joe the rest of the season. He'll be in the back of our minds every time we play.
