"Louis Tyrone "Lou" Williams" is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Williams was born in Memphis, Tennessee but grew up in Snellville, Georgia. He was selected directly out of high school by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 45th overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft. Williams spent seven seasons with Philadelphia before signing with the Atlanta Hawks in 2012. He then played two seasons there before being traded to the Toronto Raptors prior to the 2014–15 NBA season.
