He has a strong agenda for helping kids. Troy has been very active in the school district, and has a reputation for being very fair-minded. He also understands issues that school districts statewide face in terms of bringing results and federal legislation.

He showed real passion for kids. When you are president of Little League and have spent time in the classroom with kids, that's what we were looking for.

My goal is to set up a community committee to look at the physical needs of the campuses, and decide how to prioritize expenditures.

This hasn't come up yet. Names will need to be approved by the city and post office, and we'll probably have a screening committee. I can't imagine someone wanting to spend, say, $2,500 to $5,000 to name a street after a cat, though.

We're very excited about it. It's a unique and wonderful opportunity to raise funds for the school district.

People should know that Camille was someone who always looked out for the best interest of kids, understood the importance of shared decision making and was always willing to listen to the concerns of the community. I think the community owes her a great debt of thanks.

It was the whole package.
