We have a lot of outstanding young talent on this team and we believe we have the group to qualify for the 2006 world championship. We competed well against the top teams in our zone in exhibition play in Brazil and now we are ready to put it all together and qualify for the world championship.

The tough part with college basketball in the States right now is that it's become very role specific.

When I watch him play at Pitt I don't recognize him. He's very unselfish and very much a team kid. But I feel he needs to be a little more selfish with his offence.

Lars helped pave the road for us future national team players and was undoubtedly one of Canada's best big men ever.

I don't know if people really realize how good Steve is. The United States could have put him on their Olympic team in Greece (in 2004), and they would have won a gold medal (instead of bronze). ... he's one of those once-in-a-lifetime players that doesn't come by very often.

Today this team showed what it's capable of. We did a good job of taking good shots and not forcing anything.

We need to give a continuous effort from the first to fourth quarter if we want to be successful in this tournament.

Very few guys are just players. Every time I see Levon at Pitt I don't recognize the player we had this summer. He sets screens, he rebounds, he draws charges and every once in a while they throw him a bone. With us he was part of the offence, hitting [three-point shots]. I just don't think he's developing as a player.
