We knew it was going to be a tight game. It's a good win for us. They're a very patient team. They're schooled very well. They're not a team you want to get behind because they do handle the ball so well.

Curtis was big time. He had some blocks and some rebounds. His presence was felt. He finished around the basket very strong. He was banging around with two 6-7 or 6-8 guys much of the night, too. So he did a good job defensively as well.

He came in and gave us a nice lift. He's just got to stay within the framework of what we're doing.

As small as we are, if we can hold even against everyone we play, we've got a chance to win the basketball game. We have such good ball handlers and shooters.

That was a nice little surprise that the guys over at Lawrence Central gave us. (Winning Conference Indiana titles) is something we've been very successful with. Every year you try to win as many games as you can, but the conference and (Marion) County (Tournament) are big deals. There'll be a little more incentive Friday night.

They started chipping away. There were some things going on (minor altercations in the crowd and hallways) and we kind of lost our concentration. You've got to give them credit. They didn't give up. From the middle of the third quarter on, they outscored us.

The key was when we went to our full-court press. It led to some turnovers, but more importantly it kind of changes the tempo of the game when things weren't going so hot.

After we got behind 4-0, we really cranked it up. Then we played well in the second quarter. I thought we shared the ball extremely well. We were making the extra pass. We had a lot of guys have shots who passed it up for guys who had better shots.

It's a learning experience for him. We talked about it with him and got him back in (the game).
