It doesn't have much taste at all. You have to flavor it with salt and pepper. I always enjoy having my bowl of soup each day.
My biggest satisfaction is seeing all the people there having a good time. It's also satisfying to know that our veterans are getting their recognition. We feel that so many of them have been shortchanged over the years, and this event is one chance for them to be on center stage.
It occurs at a perfect time of year for people. The summer is over, and kids are back in school. It's also right before most of the area fall festivals.
