"Kathryn Elise Hoff" is an American competition swimming (sport)/swimmer, Olympic medalist, and former world record-holder. Hoff is known for her success in the 200 and 400-meter individual medley, though she is a very capable swimmer in many events, ranging from the four 200-meter events to the 800-meter freestyle. She represented the United States at the 2004 Summer Olympics and 2008 Summer Olympics, in which she captured a silver and two bronze medals.
More Katie Hoff on Wikipedia.It felt really good. I was kind of hurting the last 100, but my splits stayed even the whole entire way. I was definitely happy with the way I split it and the way I swam it. And I was also happy with my time. It was my best time.
Just based on training, I had pretty high expectations coming into this.
Hopefully I can break some records, get some medals.
It's happened to me a couple of times now: People go nuts when I'm at that stage in the race.
