Unfortunately, there is no vehicle on the road that can adequately protect people in such collisions. We do not believe any other comparable vehicles' fuel tanks could have survived the severity of this impact.

We believe their speculation regarding cost is significantly inflated.

The Mazda Navajo is a safe, reliable vehicle and not the cause of either the accident or Miss Munoz's injuries. For this and other reasons, Ford is confident this verdict will be reversed on appeal.

It's a shame that someone would use a tragedy and spread inaccurate information.

We have taken precautionary steps to minimize any potential impact from this theft.

Both Ford and Volvo have looked at injury and fatality rates in rollovers involving vehicles that meet the federal standard to vehicles that have roof strengths that are multiples of the federal standard, and there isn't a difference.

Our concern goes out to Ms. Munoz, but this accident was caused by driver error.
