Every time I feel sorry for myself having to do this, I just look at the people who have to go through this every day. They have to live without somebody in their life. Whatever I have to go through is minuscule compared to that.

We are police officers. We don't sit back and watch. We have to get out and do something. Being able to do something means a lot.
