Some of us need to step away, take a deep breath, and get back on track.
It's a much better route through the playoffs if you finish second. It's been a long time since a team around here finished second — it's very exciting.
It's always a close game between us. It always seems to be a one-run game and this is a big game for our girls. They knocked us out last year and we want a little revenge.
These girls are strong and don't let being down on the scoreboard affect them. They know their job and their job is to win. They also know softball is a seven-inning game.
When someone goes yard on you, you want to strike them out the next time. It shows her toughness and that she wasn't about to let it happen again.
They weren't happy with a small lead. This group isn't going to stop what they're doing just because they have a lead.
They're better than people give them credit for. Their lead-off girl hit a triple in the last game.
When you give a team like Crowley six runs, and you only have four hits, that equals a loss.
All we need to do, to come back, is to beat Crowley and Alvarado to finish the first half of district (play) and then win all five games in the second half. Our goal all along is to make the playoffs. And that remains our goal.
