"Jonathan Simon Woodgate" is an English Association football/footballer who plays as a Defender (association football)/defender for Middlesbrough F.C./Middlesbrough.

Woodgate started his career at Leeds United A.F.C./Leeds United where he established himself in the starting eleven. However, Woodgate was sold to Newcastle United F.C./Newcastle United for £9 million in January 2003. He impressed at Newcastle but he also suffered a number of injury problems. His performances in Europe for Newcastle led to Spanish giants Real Madrid C.F./Real Madrid signing Woodgate for £13.4 million in August 2004. Injuries blighted his time in Madrid as he failed to make a single appearance during the entire 2004–05 season. He endured an awful debut for Real Madrid as he scored an own goal and was later sent off for two bookable offences.

It's been a very hard year for me but I've finally made my debut and obviously I'm delighted.

I am sure that he will score many goals for Newcastle and England at the World Cup. He knew that he was not going to play much and he had to leave. His transfer will be good for him. Newcastle are a great club, a sleeping giant who are going to wake up.

If Luxemburgo and Real Madrid need me, then I am ready.

He is a great player and could play in any team in the world.

It is important that I have made my debut in the Bernabeu, but I have to keep on working so I can play the full 90 minutes and to help the team achieve its objectives.

It was not the best start in the world.

For Real Madrid it is not good that he has gone although here there are good players who can replace him. I'm sure he will score a lot of goals with Newcastle and with England in the World Cup.

I still have to show everything. I have still not done anything.
