There is no question that, if you look at name recognition and celebrity, my opponent is far-and-away ahead. I think that if you put my beliefs in one column and her positions in another column, I am almost convinced that a majority of the people in the Democratic Party would support my beliefs.

I entered this race because I refused to be silent about the immorality of the war in Iraq.

Voters would find it a strained argument to believe that the senator who prides herself on intelligence and knowledge of detail can't recall any details in this case. It just strains credulity.

I simply believe that New York can do much better with a United States senator who would not be for the war, who believes in universal health care and who believes NAFTA has been bad for the state.

If we do very well in the next campaign, when the next war comes before the Congress, Senator Clinton and others will think twice about supporting an immoral war.
