The main concern we have in the civil rights community isn't necessarily that that DOJ brought this case. It's that the department is not bringing meritorious cases on behalf of African-American and Native American voters.

This is the kind of discrimination we would see on a much larger level without the provisions. Trying to fight something like this after it is in effect is very expensive and time consuming. It might take years to get a decision.
