If I had to give a grade to Howard Stringer, I'd give him a C-plus. Sony still wants to be the master of the universe. They want to conquer entertainment; they want to conquer consumer electronics; they want to conquer games.

He is the only heir-apparent. I don't see any negative impact to the share price.

It's still unclear how Mr. Stringer will create growth, ... If I were to give him a grade, it would be a C plus.

If I had to give a grade to Howard Stringer, I'd give him a C-plus. He talks a lot about restructuring in cost reduction. He doesn't really talk about stirring growth.

[NOT SAYING YET. Without selling off those units, it's not clear where Sony will come up with money to spend on new products.] I'm still not convinced that Sony can stir growth, ... They have to come up with something nobody can imitate but consumers will buy. But they haven't given any details how they plan to do that.

If the weather gets cold, a lot of energy is consumed in order to maintain the body's temperature. Just by wearing a thin shirt, the amount of consumed energy rises a lot.

Everything is going well except for JVC. There's no reason to keep JVC at this point.

This is a very positive move for Matsushita and it's long overdue. I'd rather have them do that than keep on using their factories, keep on making 2.5G phones and bleeding red ink.
