He served as Liberal Party of Canada/Liberal Member of Parliament for Ottawa South from Canadian federal election, 1988/1988 to Canadian federal election, 2004/2004, and was Deputy Prime Minister between 2002 and 2003. He is now President and CEO of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives.

We need to invest a great deal in the effort to re-establish the proximity of our relationship with the United States.
