From the committee's standpoint, we are excited about going to Seattle. The Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center is first rate and world class, and we were unanimous about our decision. It has been a long time since we have been to the West Coast.

We understand that the smell is one thing this neighborhood is going to have to endure.

Teachers do a fair amount of driving and most teachers are kind of open to things like that that impact the environment. School districts are a big employer. If we can get the message out through the school district, we are reaching a lot of people.

One of its beauties is it is incredibly flexible. We're going to have people in the system who will use it twice a year, and we're going to have people who are going to use it five days a week. ... It really opens it up to the once-in-a-while trip. And that reduces a lot of miles.

I went into Alta Loma where they didn't support it and got people to sign the petition.

I believe the money that is spent by the city ... in the long run will come back to the taxing entities as our property values go up.

I think they were already frustrated. The money was a factor (before), but now it's a much bigger factor. Now it's really hitting them in the pocketbook.

Its going to require patience and cooperation of everyone to find a solution.
