We really like the cast and were blown away by the consistency of the show in terms of comedy and Rob's ability to run it, ... We really believe in him and his compatriots.

On a creative level, I'd like to bring both shows back. But we tried to launch two shows (during the summer), and our resources were spread too thin. As painful as it is, we thought we should pick one (to renew). It was a really difficult decision because I really think 'Starved' has a lot of potential.

We get more e-mails and mail on a daily basis about Nip/Tuck than any of our other series. It's clear that Ryan Murphy's unique vision for a show that is both addictive entertainment and a deeply penetrating critique of America's obsession with surface beauty has tapped into something very powerful.

[As for] Starved, ... The show had a lot of fans, so it was tough to choose. Ultimately, we felt that we're just not in a position to spread our resources. We launched our dramas one at a time, and launching two like we did this summer just didn't work out as well.

We didn't have the largest marketing budget for the comedies to begin with, and what we had, we split between two shows. In that respect, 'Sunny' didn't get its own real launch. But we love the show and think it's only going to get better.

The series was arguably the most critically acclaimed new television show of the year, a fact which made the decision not to renew it all the more difficult.

You'd really have to be blind and deaf to watch the shows and never know--we make it quite clear they're adult shows for adults, ... Even though technically we're not regulated and there's nothing the FCC could do, we feel that we have little choice right now.
