Melissa returned and performed really well today.

I was very disappointed with our effort today, and if we would have done better we could have won a meet for a second week in a row.

She's demolished some of her teammates in some of our workouts. It's a testament to how hard she's worked during the summer and how much better she's getting.

The key is for our 3-to-5 runners, and even our 6-to-7 runners, coming along and making good contributions.

I'm somewhat excited about this year's team. I'm somewhat excited about progress we can make. We didn't end on a good note, but we have all of our runners back and the top runners have trained hard to make progress.

[She] ran better than she has been [running] in a while.

John always has a vision, with great, broad-stroked kinds of goals.

Maybe she wouldn't be as good now, ... She transitioned well into our program. Sometimes kids get burned out doing too much. That's been the difference, being able to train like a runner.

Laura's been a pleasure to coach because she's so intelligent and she works so hard, ... Sometimes she works too hard. Working hard for success has transferred over to our other runners, too, so I'm kind of glad I've got her for two more years.
