"Joseph Lowell Gordon" (February 18, 1915 – April 14, 1978), nicknamed ""Flash"" in reference to the comic-book character Flash Gordon, was an United States/American second baseman and manager (baseball)/manager in Major League Baseball who played for the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians from 1938 to 1950. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Baseball Hall of Fame balloting, 2009/2009.

It's really just not realistic from the standpoint of his health.

One thing is his style was so unique ? his voice, his delivery. The other thing, because he was a little guy physically [standing 5-4], I think the average man identified with him.

Never saw him at Steelers alumni gatherings. He pretty much distanced himself from football.
