It's good to start off with a win. It wasn't the prettiest or cleanest of games. We've got things to work on.

We're used to this with the other bridges coming down. This does affect the most bus routes, passengers and Marquette students, but they're not cut off.

We have worked very closely with the engineers on this project and they have kept us up to date on every aspect. They have been on schedule, which has allowed us to anticipate when the bridge would come down and so we can plan bus route detours that will take the least amount of time out of our riders' schedules.

Usually we're slow coming out of the gates with the bats. Today we came out swinging the bats early and that was definitely big. It seemed like we were more comfortable in the box. I think playing at home helped - we haven't played a lot of home games.

With 14 months till Election day, the attorney general is looking strong.

Thirteen months before the election, none of the potential Republican candidates has made an impact on New York voters.

We know they can hit the ball. Phillip (Watson) does a good job keeping you off balance. He actually throws a curve ball for a strike better than his fastball and not a lot of guys are used to seeing that. Then Josh Bradshaw came in and did a good job on the mound. He throws the ball over the plate. He's pretty fearless.

The Republican candidates have a lot of ground to cover and a lot of voters to talk to if they are to become known to voters - particularly Republican voters - over the next five months.

You can either ride the wave or suck the surf.
