Jedi's absence from the Open is understandable. This is the first time in its history that Jedi has competed here. When entries for our six tournaments were received before the season start, the Jedi team wasn't entered in the Open.

The noontime contest will be watched with particular interest by close followers of the sport. Through the years, the teams representing the club have won every major tournament in the United States at least once.

Somebody asked me who I thought would win this thing. It's too hard to say. There aren't any teams that are out of it.

Our main concern is always for the safety of the horses and players. With so many games, it was important to make an early decision to postpone the games to give everyone enough notice about the new schedule.

Fifty-two matches are to be played during this tournament. As a result, many of the matches will be staged weekdays. All we really need now is the cooperation of the weather.
