The algebra students' parents pay for the tutoring, which takes place during study hall. The algebra students receive personalized help and the calculus students are able to earn money to help them pay for their examinations.

Students may take as many as six or seven exams during their high school experience. At $82 per exam, these costs run into hundreds of dollars, so every little bit helps. The tutors also get the benefit of seeing their advanced skills put to good use right there in the classroom.
