"James William "Junior" Gilliam" was an United States/American second baseman/second and third baseman and coach (baseball)/coach in Negro league baseball/Negro League and Major League Baseball who spent his entire major league career with the Los Angeles Dodgers/Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers. He was named the National League MLB Rookie of the Year Award/Rookie of the Year, and was a key member of ten NL championship teams from 1953 to 1978. The Dodgers' batting order (baseball)/leadoff hitter for most of the 1950s, he scored over 100 run (baseball)/runs in each of his first four seasons and led the NL in triple (baseball)/triples and base on balls/walks once each. Upon retirement, he became one of the first African-American coaches in the major leagues.

We think it's a terrific addition to the downtown. They've been challenged in finding a space that was suitable for the gallery and affordable. This location fits both those needs, and it's highly visible. We are anticipating good things.
