"James Patrick "Jim" Anderton" is a New Zealand politician who led a succession of left wing politics/left wing parties after leaving the New Zealand Labour Party/Labour Party in 1989. He served as Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand/Deputy Prime Minister from 1999 to 2002. In 2010, he ran unsuccessfully for the Christchurch mayoral election, 2010/mayoralty of Christchurch. Anderton retired from Parliament at the New Zealand general election, 2011/2011 election.
