I can't believe how excited everyone was to see me ride last year. It really gave me a rush.

One of the great things about my resume is that a lot of opportunities to try different things pop up. I feel honored that someone would ask me to race a $250,000 truck when it's not really my sport.

The thing that I love about this race after racing Supercross for such a long time is it's a lot more business over there, ... This is a lot more fun. Even though everybody wants to win, the athletes over here get treated the way they're supposed to, and I think that's great.

[As for the future, McGrath and his wife, Kim, are expecting their first child (a daughter) in December. And he plans to ride at least six Supercrosses for Honda next season.] I can't believe how excited everyone was to see me ride last year, ... It really gave me a rush.

Yesterday's race was a really big learning curve for me. I made a lot of rookie mistakes. Going home last night, I thought about a lot of things that I could change, and instead of looking, watching and learning today, I was actually racing. It was great.

I've played in the desert on two wheels, but I've never done any off-road racing.

I'm hoping to beat Boris because I don't know if I can beat anyone who knows what they're doing, ... Boris and I are both a little bit out of our element. I figure we'll be in the middle somewhere pounding on each other.

I'd like to put something together. I want to talk to Red Bull about it and maybe Honda. It's going to be a seven-or eight-event (series) next season with two in Southern California. It makes a lot of sense that this might be something I would pursue.

James has a lot of fans. Maybe some African-American people didn't like our sport so much because it was dominated by White people, but now the demographics, with James in there, it's mixed up. I think it's great.
