R.L., in real life was a lot different from how he comes off on the records, where he cusses and yells a lot. I have seen him get like that, but most of the time he was a very quiet, respectful person. He was not really how Fat Possum made him out to be to sell those records.

We had a young team last year and most of our starters are still with me. This group will be a lot more experienced.

We weren't as bad as our record sounded. We lost to Jerome, but Jerome was a good team. We struggled throughout the season with injuries, but we're not using that as an excuse.

This is the hardest-working team we've ever had.

Cody and Luther were kids in high school who used to come to the juke joint and sit in the corner, petrified of interacting. But I didn't look at Junior and R.L. as giant heroes of the blues. I looked at them as living continuations of Fred McDowell and John Lee Hooker and guys like that. It was a cultural experience for me.

I was involved in Habitat for Humanity when I was in high school and I think it's an incredible program. I've seen firsthand the effects it has on people.

David is one of the most talented musicians ever, and he's never gotten his due. That cat is an amazing guitar player.

I am not one of those guys.
