I knew it would be a tough game, but I thought we would win. The loss kinda rained on the parade.

The Christmas break before the league season was good because everyone came back with a great attitude. We've had trouble figuring out some substitution patterns, so we're still experimenting to some degree.

Steals are a double-edged sword. It's good to get the transition game started, but it also results in sloppy defense by taking chances and not seeing the ball as well as we should.

Sam is expected to step in and continue the same improvement she's also shown during the season.

In terms of contributions, it was a real team effort.

We played good basketball for maybe 10 minutes and struggled for the other 30. We've had a string of games where we've won by a significant number of points, and we've developed some bad habits.

None of our freshmen have reached their potential. Tricia has done a good job as a starter and is growing into her role as a scorer, despite being up and down. Vanessa is gaining confidence and is probably the most improved of the new players, and Brittany is a lot better than when she arrived.

I thought we got out to a good start, had the transition game going pretty well. Everybody played well, everybody had about equal playing time, so our depth made the difference in the game.

We did an outstanding job on the boards, led by Stacey, who had great energy.
