OPEC is going to look for some behind the scenes compensation from us before they come to some public agreements. They will come to some token increase that effectively legitimizes the token cheating.

Texaco was hurt by weakness overseas. Refining margins in Europe and Asia are atrocious -- and Arco (Atlantic Richfield) just doesn't have that exposure [in those markets].

The Exxon-Mobil deal has definitely raised the bar. It's going to be hard to compete with a company that size.
