The next round of talks between the Centre and PCG will be very crucial as likely outcome of the meeting may decide the future of the peace process.

The ongoing peace process is a historical step. People of Assam would remain grateful to you and your government.

I humbly request you to kindly consider the removal of the security forces from the affected areas to ease the prevailing tension. I sincerely believe that such a step would help us to carry forward the peace process towards a positive end.

The government will hold the second round of talks with us from Feb 7 in New Delhi, though the modalities for the negotiations are yet to be worked out.

We hope to discuss all contentious issues with the government across the table since our main aim is to bring the ULFA into negotiating table.
